A Season of Worship Through Giving:

Church family, as we approach this beautiful season from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve, I
want to invite us to enter these weeks with hearts focused on worshiping the Lord through our
giving.
This time of year reminds us of how much God has given us — life, salvation, grace upon grace
— through His Son, Jesus Christ, the King of Kings. And as His people, we’re called to
respond in worship — not only through our songs and prayers, but through our generosity.
The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 9:11–12:
“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through
us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”
When we give — whether it’s our time, our resources, or our love — we are participating in
worship. Our generosity becomes a testimony that Christ truly reigns in our hearts.
During this special season, I want to encourage us to prayerfully consider giving above and
beyond our regular tithes— as an act of gratitude and worship to the Lord. Our tithe is a
response of obedience, but our offerings above the tithe are expressions of love and
thanksgiving. Just as the wise men brought their treasures before the newborn King, we too have
the opportunity to bring gifts that honor Him — gifts that bless others, strengthen the ministry,
and advance God’s kingdom. Let us give with joy, not out of obligation, but out of overflowing
thankfulness for all God has done.
So, beginning this Thanksgiving season and continuing through Christmas Eve, we’re
designating these weeks as “Giving Sundays.” Each Sunday, let’s come ready to worship by
giving — to serve, to share, to bless, and to reflect the heart of our Savior, who gave Himself for
us.
Let’s make this season more than a season of receiving — let’s make it a season of worship
through giving. Because every act of generosity, no matter how small, brings glory to the One
who gave us everything.
May our gifts rise as a sweet offering before the Lord, and may our hearts overflow with
thanksgiving to the King of Kings, who has given us new life.
With gratitude and love in Christ,
Pastor Rick
